Write What You Know

Shanan has a six-year old daughter Kate and Joshua has a five-year old daughter Miriam and a nine-year old son Aaron. From Here to Maternity was written and rehearsed on play dates with the Custer and Scrimshaw children. During the process, the offspring served as both inspiration and obstacle. In fact, Joshua cobbled together most of these web pages with a five-year old literally clinging to his leg. Kate even managed to infiltrate the photo shoot (see right). In short, Shanan and Joshua know of what they speak, write and perform.
